The Dragon's Mission

In Ancient China, the Dragon was revered as a link between Heaven and Earth. If one was lucky enough to spot a Blue Dragon, it was an omen of approaching Spring, when Nature, Earth and Humans renew themselves and grow to fulfill their potential. In his claws, the Dragon holds a gift for humanity. It is a Pearl, the Pearl of Wisdom.

Quality Chinese Herbs is dedicated to bringing to the West a few Pearls of Wisdom, the knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the understanding of how to use herbs to make all of us healthier, stronger, more relaxed and clear thinking, and perhaps even a little wiser.

At Quality Chinese Herbs, we use only the purest, highest quality, organic or low pesticide-residue and sulfur free herbs for our full spectrum herbal extracts. Most of the herbs used in production come directly from China and are harvested from specific bio-regions according to ancient cultural traditions. Five to ten pounds of raw herbs are concentrated to make just one pound of highly potent extract, using a low temperature vacuum evaporation process which preserves the integrity of all the active ingredients. Standardized extractions of a few non-Chinese herbs, such as Milk Thistle from Europe, Gymnema from India and Ginkgo Biloba from the U.S., have been added to several of the formulas when appropriate to boost their strength and potency.

In the Liquid Extract line of products, Quality Chinese Herbs uses a time-tested extraction process that utilizes all natural solvents. No hexane or ethers are used in production. All formulas are in a low alcohol and vegetable glycerice base. The percentage of alcohol has been kept at 22%, much lower than the up to 60% alcohol content of some herbal tinctures. When the bitterness or the alcohol is blended with the sweetness of the vegetable gylcerine (a natural by-product of olive oil extraction) the two tastes balance or cancel each other out, leaving an elixir that has neither the bitterness and harshness of the alcohol nor the overly sweet taste found in pure glycerine based products. This blending allows the delicate aroma and subtle flavours of the herbs to come through and be appreciated.
